vanilla with pieces

i'm having the most lovely evening. there's been a huge thunderstorm and it's nice and noisy out. i've been knitting and listening to podcasts. it's just so cozy with some nice audio and big piece of knitting in your lap.

i finished the knitting on my thermal. it's so soft and squishy. it looks like i could have made it longer, but i'll see how it looks after i block. when i cast on, i was so eager to knit it up so i could do the seaming. and of course, now that i've finished knitting, all i want to do is cast on another big project. not socks, not lace, but another sweater or something.

of course, the only yarn i have enough of is super bulky weight. my mom found it on sale. it's a wonderful color and there's four hundred grams of it, but it's super bulky weight. i have no idea what to do with it. moreover, i don't even think i have needles big enough to swatch. i have a set of size nine circulars. i may have a set of size fifteen straights lurking about somewhere. ... it shows gauge on size seventeen... looking this closely at the yarn, i'm a bit scared.

regardless, i still don't want to seam up thermal. even though i would have a sweater if i did. i also don't want to cast off and weave in the ends of my grey and red vest. it's been sitting in my bag for nearly a month now. i just need to cast off the neckline and sew in ends. that's it. okay, so, there are fifty million ends. or... y'know, fourteen. still, entirely too many.

i think this means i need to go to a knitting group.
